Our client sought to relocate its existing food product operations in Norfolk, VA, to a new facility in Suffolk, VA. The new, approximately 112,500 square foot facility included office space, locker rooms, production lines and warehousing. They contracted HIPP to provide detailed design services in support of the manufacturing spaces.
Existing production and packaging lines from the Norfolk facility were relocated and re-established at the Suffolk site. Production areas were designed to allow efficient flow through the manufacturing and packaging process. Utilities were designed to support the production warehousing, including new HVAC, new steam and condensate, new ammonia refrigerant, relocated existing air compressors, a new nitrogen system, new electrical service, new lighting, relocated and reinstalled existing controls system.
